- We recommend that you purchase your textbooks before classes begin; prices tend to increase very rapidly after the semester starts.
- International Textbooks are sometimes offered at very low prices. Many International Textbooks have the same exact content as U.S. editions but some do not. To be safe, have the seller confirm that the content is exactly the same including all the problem questions. International Textbooks are legal in the United States. Click here for more information on International Textbooks.
- When purchasing from individuals (not merchants), read book descriptions carefully and be sure to check the rating of the seller. You will likely receive a book much sooner from a seller with a high rating and favorable feedback.
- If you think you may drop a class, check and see if there is a return policy. If not, then we recommend that you rent from Chegg.com or just plan on selling it to someone in your class. Chegg.com is a book rental company, like NetFlix, and they have a return policy.
- When the semester is over, plan on selling your textbooks online before the start of the following semester. You will receive much more than the local bookstore can afford to pay you.
